I’m a BIG candle lover. I light one every single night and love the fragrant aromas and soft glow of a nice candle lit in our home. This candle from Anthropologie is my favorite and I always have one on hand, but I also buy other candles to bring in the scents of the season. Pumpkin for fall, evergreen for winter, and fresh linen for spring…there are so many yummy smells out there!
I also don’t always like to spend a ton on these seasonal candles so I often pick them up from stores like HomeGoods or Michaels.
I recently picked up a couple fall candles from Michaels because they were having a great sale. While I love these scents (even though they make me hungry!), I’m not in love with the look of the candle jars. The labels are just so big and u-g-l-y and the thought of soaking them to get the labels off sounds like a lot of work.
That’s when I came up with this idea for a simple fall candle holder to hide those ugly labels. 
Make a Fall Candle Holder Out of An Old Sock
This may be one of the weirdest craft projects we’ve done here on the blog, but I’m actually pretty obsessed with how easy and effective it is. You’re going to use an old sock, cut it, and put it around the jar to hide the label. The result is a fall candle holder that looks cozy and adds some texture to your home’s decor for the season!
Grab An Old Sock
Finding a sock was actually the hardest part of this project. You’ll want one that is pretty thick and I prefer the look of a cable knit or wool sock for added texture. A regular white sock might not look so pretty, so I’d avoid using that. I found an off-white cable knit and used that for this project (these ones on Amazon could work well).
Oh, and make sure it’s clean too. No one wants to use a stinky sock when DIY’ing. 
Bring the top of the sock up over the candle and get it in a place where you want it. I shimmied mine all the way up to the top.
Cut Off the Foot of the Sock
Now make sure you use fabric scissors to cut the foot of the sock off. Trust me, it will be a heck of a lot easier to use fabric scissors as opposed to just regular ones. I was able to cut through this thick sock really easily using mine. And I’m a lefty (and suck at cutting), so that says a lot!
And guys….that’s it, you’re done! I told you it was an easy fall craft project.
Before & After – Fall Candle Holder
I love this simple solution to hide those ugly candle labels. It took me 2 minutes to complete and I think it adds so much texture and warmth to our dining room table. 
I’m going to keep my eyes peeled at the store for more socks because I think this would look good with a really thick cream sock (almost like a sweater) as a fall candle holder. 
While I’m sure I’ll continue to buy those pretty candles from Anthropologie (that cost an arm and a leg!), I think this is a great solution for inexpensive candles with hideous jars.
